An integrated approach.

In my my work with clients I integrate from Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt counselling models . This allows me to adopt a client-focused approach in which I help my clients explore how their past experiences may be shaping their thought processes, emotions and relationships.

I use simple mindfulness-based grounding techniques to help my clients to self regulate and manage anxiety and to remain present so that feelings about the past and future become less overwhelming.

At the heart of my work is the belief that we all have the power for change and growth, but that sometimes the experience of feeling seen and heard is the essential catalyst for that growth. I try to see beyond labels and work with the person in front of me. Creating a space to be heard allows thoughts and emotions - especially those associated with loss, fear and sadness- to be expressed and explored. Understanding, respecting and reframing difficult feelings and experiences can be transformative in helping someone to move on and to begin to live authentically.

Counselling can be a powerful aid to building self-awareness, improving self-esteem, and developing healthier patterns of relating to yourself and others. Whether you are experiencing a specific difficulty or a general sense of feeling stuck, working with a qualified counsellor could support you to develop self confidence and purpose moving forward.

I provide online counselling sessions at £40.00 per 50 minute session and face to face sessions at my counselling room in Framlingham, Suffolk at a cost of £45.00 per 50 minute session. I offer concessionary rates for students and people receiving benefits e.g. Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance and PIP..

In the first instance I offer a free 20-minute initial video meet and greet call so we can decide together whether my approach feels right for you. To arrange this, please email sean@seanhumfreycounselling.com or complete the form in the contact section of this website.

“Nobody steps in the same river twice. They are not the same person and it is not the same river”

( Heraclitus, 500 BCE)

Like the universe we inhabit, we are not fixed. Everything in life is fluid, we change and the world around us changes. Self-Acceptance is fluid and every change brings about a new version of ourselves. This can feel frightening but I believe it can also feel invigorating and liberating. Whatever it is we are struggling with right now, like the water in the river - this too will pass.

A peaceful river flowing through a green, lush forest with dense trees on both sides, sunlight filtering through the leaves.

Embrace your own current
